Sodium hyaluronate

Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a key component of connective tissue and promotes tissue repair. Its use has also been reported in dentistry to exert an anti-inflammatory effect and to control gingival bleeding.5 Hyaluronic acid in Mucosamin® and Radioderm® has been shown to promote cell proliferation, differentiation and motility.6

Amino Acids

The amino acids present in Mucosamin® and Radioderm® are intended to promote the formation of collagen.1,2 The availability of amino acids, such as those present in Mucosamin® and Radioderm®, is necessary in wound repair due to increased metabolic activity.6,7 The amino acids present in Mucosamin® and Radioderm® favour wound healing by collagenogenesis and extracellular matrix (ECM) formation.7
